In the architecture above, a gateway is used in order to send data collected by a variety of sensors to cloud storage (step 1). After being extracted and processed in real-time by a cloud server (step 2), data is stores back in the cloud storage for future use (step 3). The cloud server sends the results of data processing while generating appropriate alarms to an observation centre (step 4). Clinicians in the observation centre may need to access patient data from cloud for an enhanced analysis (step 5). When necessary, clinicians may approach other healthcare systems for consultation (steps 6 and 7). Decisions are then sent by clinicians and specialists to an actuation component (step 8) and appropriate interventions are made to patients accordingly (step 9).
